What did we do?
A comprehensive concept for a real-time alert dashboard was developed for a Meteomatics client. The process included strategic requirements analysis, user interviews, and technical prototyping. The goal was to visualize severe weather alerts and their specific impact on critical infrastructure in order to enable effective protective measures.
- Strategic Foundation: Definition of the overarching strategic goals that the dashboard must fulfill to ensure maximum benefit for all stakeholders
- Definition of Critical Events: In-depth user interviews with key stakeholders from public administration, disaster management, and critical infrastructure operators to identify practical needs and precise requirements
- Role and Permission Management: Development of a robust user and role concept to ensure that each user receives the relevant information and functionality for their responsibilities
- Comprehensive Dashboard Concept: Content, visual, and technical design of the dashboard, including seamless integration of high-precision weather data and visualizations from the Meteomatics API as the data foundation
- Interactive Design Prototyping: Creation of high-fidelity wireframes providing a realistic, clickable representation of the final application to test and optimize the user experience (UX) early on
- Technical Implementation and Integration: Design of the system architecture and development of a functional prototype demonstrating the connection and integration of the Meteomatics API into the existing portal
