Strategy Consulting: Digital Transformation (80–100%)

With a technical background · St. Gallen or Bern · Permanent · Start date to be determined

A strategy that is well thought out all the way through to the implemented solution

We are diselva, independent consultants for digital transformation. You’ll be the central point of contact for companies looking to shape their digital future—from defining strategic goals to implementing solutions. You’ll work with executive management and the board of directors as well as with IT teams and external service providers, across a wide range of industries—from manufacturing and retail to energy and mobility, and from medtech to insurance.

What we’re not looking for is “consulting theater.” For us, a strategy only counts once it’s been translated into projects, budgets, and architectures that the company can actually implement. That’s why a genuine technical background is a prerequisite—not to work as a developer, but to ensure that your architectural decisions are credible and that you can thoroughly evaluate proposed solutions.

AI is an integral part of this work: You assess where it truly makes an impact in the client’s business model, embed it in the strategic vision and data architecture, and use it yourself in your analysis and conceptual work.

Your Role

  • You develop transformation strategies: internal and external analysis, business and technology roadmaps, and budget planning.
  • You lead and facilitate workshops with C-level executives, senior management, and the board of directors until the focus, KPIs, and governance framework are established.
  • You develop enterprise and solution architectures, business capability maps, and functional maps, and apply them in client interactions.
  • You conduct structured software and service provider evaluations—from the long list through the RFP to the final recommendation—for ERP, CRM, e-commerce, PIM, DAM, CMS, IAM, or OMS.
  • You make AI tangible for our clients: evaluating use cases, clarifying the data foundation and architecture, and honestly assessing costs and benefits.
  • You’ll translate strategy into concrete projects and support implementation at the conceptual and architectural levels, including requirements engineering and technical validation.
  • You’ll advise on building digital organizational and governance structures and on the change management that goes along with them.

What you bring to the table

  • At least 8 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in strategy consulting or IT consulting, with references from transformation projects, evaluations, or enterprise architecture.
  • A degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, or Business Administration with a focus on IT, or equivalent practical experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise architecture: system landscapes, integration architecture, and capability mapping. In addition, an understanding of APIs, integration patterns, the cloud, and data concepts ranging from master data to customer data platforms.
  • The ability to evaluate system landscapes: make or buy, build or configure, lock-in risks, TCO, and business case.
  • A clear understanding of what AI can and cannot do in businesses today, and the ability to derive sound recommendations from this rather than relying on buzzwords.
  • A deep understanding of business processes in at least one industry, and the curiosity to immerse yourself in the next one until you truly understand it.
  • Stakeholder competence at all levels: You speak with the board of directors and with developers, and both take you seriously.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal: decision-making documents, concepts, pitches, and workshops.
  • Business-fluent in German, good written and spoken English; French is a plus. Willingness to travel within Switzerland and occasionally to the DACH region.
  • Proficiency with consulting and visualization tools, such as PowerPoint, Miro, Confluence, or ArchiMate. Experience with RFP and Ver

This isn’t for you if …

  • … your work ends once you hand off the presentation.
  • … you can’t evaluate technical proposals yourself and therefore pass them on.
  • … you view AI as a slide topic rather than an architectural and data issue.
  • … you recommend solutions without asking whether the company can support them.
  • … you withdraw your recommendation as soon as it becomes uncomfortable during the meeting.

What We Offer

  • Access to the highest level. You work where decisions are made and see them through to implementation.
  • Independence as a condition of employment. No ties to specific vendors, no licensing commissions, no pressure to keep your own implementation teams fully booked. You recommend what’s right.
  • AI taken seriously. A dedicated consulting focus area that you help shape, along with tools that are already implemented and licensed.
  • In-house technical expertise. Enterprise and software architects who will challenge you when you’re off track.
  • Constantly breaking new ground. Different industries, different business models, different system landscapes. Onboarding is part of the job here.
  • Quick decision-making. Decisions are made in days, not quarters.
  • Flexible work arrangements at our two locations in St. Gallen and Bern; remote work is possible.
  • Your birthday, Olma, Offa, and the St. Gallen OpenAir are considered additional holidays at our company—and of course, that goes for Bern, too.
